    Ego State Therapy
    By Gordon, Ph.D. Emmerson

A quick book suggestion after completing the Ego State Therapy Certificate last weekend with Gordon Emmerson.

This is a wondeful psychodynamic approach which in a lot of ways will be familiar to many who work with hypnosis and use the affect bridge to get to the ego state/feeling/trauma in order to work directly with the state that needs help.

Ego State Therapy uses practical techniques increasing an understanding of personality and helping facilitate expression, release, comfort, and empowerment with fast and lasting change.

    About the Author:
Gordon Emmerson, Ph.D. is a senior lecturer in psychology at Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia and is assistant editor of the Australian Journal of Clinical Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy.

    G'day from Australia

    Tuesday, December 4, 2007, 08:14 PM [General]

    G'day from Australia,

I am Michele, I have a full time practice in Melbourne Australia and have been practicing clinical hypnotherapy for coming up to six years.

I stumbled upon this network while surfing for information which I really enjoy because I am always interested in what is going on in the world of hypnosis and I have learned so much about the depth of knowledge that people share. I have read about 5- PATH® on Pablo's site and I may be interested in doing some learning on-line in the future.

I am fascinated to find in real life, (albeit virtual) on this community, many of the personalities and well known hypnotists and hypnotherapists that I have read about over the years. It's wonderful to see so many new therapists starting out full of energy and excitement. It's interesting to see a few Australians on site and even a couple of CCH members. What a great idea this Hypnospace is.

I made some major changes after taking a weekend of Parts Therapy when Roy Hunter visited Australia, I couldn't put my finger on it at the time but something changed that seemed to have a life of its own, like being in a slip stream.I do remember being moved by how genuine Roy was and the real emotion and love he shared for what he does.

Maybe we can experience 'passive therapy' and whether we are conscious of it or not, some part of our mind IS ALWAYS listening, following that workshop I also gave up an old habit that I had no use for anymore. I did no direct work on it, but my subconscious mind was definitely listening to my conscience.

Has anyone else experienced getting waves of clients that seem to highlight something that you have become aware of that is need of some attention to change yourself? My latest lightbulb is weight loss, so guess what, I am doing my programme along side my clients.

Experiences for learning are all around us in every day life; and like the voice of Milton Erickson they go everywhere with you.

I really love my work, and it never ceases to amaze me that I actually do make my living from my passion. I guess we have all heard the sayings,"follow your heart...."do what you love...."etc, etc, however, being is believing and I do feel blessed.

Enough from me for now, I waffled on for a long time for a first hello blog, I look forward to being part of such a terrific space and hope I can contribute something of interest.......

    Keep you posted.
